Alabama Picks up Commitment from 2019 Four-Star Guard Jaden Shackelford

Jaden Shackelford, a 4-star guard in the 2019 recruiting class, has committed to Alabama.

The 6-3 shooting guard, who updated his Twitter bio (@jayunooo) to reflect his decision, took his official visit to the school this weekend after earning an offer from Avery Johnson and company back on Aug. 23.

Shackelford attends Hesperia High School in Hesperia, Calif.

According to 247Sports, he ranks as the No. 15 shooting guard and No. 96 player overall in the 2019 class.

He becomes the third member of Alabama’s class for next season, as they’ve already landed commitments from 4-star prospects Juwan Gary and Jaylen Forbes.

The Crimson Tide were ranked No. 17 nationally for next year’s class prior to Shackelford’s decision, and will likely move into the top 10 in the updated rankings.

Six SEC teams currently have a top 25 ranking in the class.
